The former president Yameen Abdul Gayyoom is not the kind of person who would feign a pain in his chest and leave the battlefield thereby abandoning his people, said PPM Vice President MP Ahmed Shiyam (Naifaru).
Shiyam mentioned this while addressing protesters at an opposition Coalition demonstration. Shiyam praised the determination and strength shown by the former President during his time in prison and when appearing in court. He said that the former president had 'proven his innocence'.
He alleged that the Solih administration had been offering the former president several deals which he kept declining.
The former President has declined several iffers from the ruling government to leave the country.
