Speaker of the Parliament Mohammed Nasheed has stated that India is a dependable friend to the Maldives.
He tweeted today, announcing that an Air India plane will land in Male' with 100,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. Nasheed claimed that it was a gift from India. He said that this will be the beginning of the end of the terrible virus. It should be noted that during the early days of the pandemic Nasheed downplayed the dangers of the virus.
Nasheed praised and thanked India for their assistance during the Indian Ocean tsunami, the attempted coup of 1988, and during the Male' water crisis.
