Flood-Proof Street Flooded

The streets of Male City have been prone to flooding in the heavy rains of the monsoon season. Since President Solih assumed office, the first street that had been reconstructed in Male City had been claimed to be immune to such flooding. The work done on Kan'ba Aisa Hingun Road had been praised and celebrated on social media by pro government activists and on pro government news outlets.

The Deputy Mayor of Male City, Shamau Shareef, had claimed that the road would not flood even in the "heaviest rain".

However, it soon became clear that the road had been flooded in heavy rains yesterday.

A joint project between the Male City Council and the Road Corporation had worked on a section of Kan'ba Aisa Rani Hingun.

It is noteworthy that the ring-road constructed by the previous administration does not suffer from such flooding.
