MIRA has received an income of MVR 10.4 billion last year, according to statistics published by the agency.
In comparison with the MVR 16.8 billion earned in 2019, this was a reduction of 37%. The amount of United States dollars earned by MIRA had also reduced by 54%. In 2020, MIRA received USD$ 296.8 million, in comparison to the USD$ 653.3 million earned in 2019.
MIRA’s earnings in December 2019 compared with December 2020 had declined by 34.1% with MVR 1.04 billion.
Earnings from fees had also declined.
MIRA earned the most from GST with MVR 4.3 billion, with income tax having earned MVR 1.8 billion. Business tax fetched MVR 1.7 billion, with the rent from lands leased out for tourism bringing in MVR 702.7 million.
