Opposition to hold a rally on Saturday

The opposition coalition has decided to hold a special rally on Saturday the 26th of December.
Speaking to the press, opposition People's National Congress' (PNC) Vice President Ibrahim Shujau stated that the coalition would be holding a rally in the carnival area on 26th December. He requested the general public to attend the rally.
Shujau also noted that the ruling MDP is not planning to conduct the Local Council Elections. He stated that MDP was busy deciding who sways the most power within the party. In addition, he stated that the opposition wants to prove that the government does not have the support of the people via an election.
He also criticized the President of the Elections Commission Ahmed Shareef for stating that there is an insufficient amount of trained people to conduct the elections. Shujau noted that MVR 18 million was spent to train people and alleged that state funding was used illicitly for the training.
