Maldivian Seeks Sales Agent for Planned South Africa Route

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced that it is seeking a General Sales Agent (GSA) in South Africa as part of its plans to expand wide-body operations to the region.

In an official announcement, Island Aviation Services invited interested parties to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) along with the required EOI form by July 4, 2025, 23:59 Maldives time. Detailed information is available in the Request for Proposal (RFP) document linked in the announcement.

This move is part of Maldivian’s wider strategy to scale up A330-200 operations, which currently include services to three destinations in China. The airline has also revealed plans to launch flights to Europe and South Africa, further enhancing its international connectivity.

To support this expansion, Maldivian is also in the process of adding a second wide-body aircraft, expected to join the fleet in October 2025.
