Maldives and Saudi Fund for Development to Strengthen Partnership on Key Infrastructure Projects

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with His Excellency Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, on the sidelines of the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh. Their discussions focused on expanding collaborative efforts and opening new avenues for partnership between the Maldives and the Saudi Fund.

The two leaders reviewed ongoing projects supported by the Saudi Fund, including the Velana International Airport expansion, along with other critical infrastructure and fisheries sector initiatives. Both President Muizzu and CEO Al-Marshad reiterated their commitment to the timely completion of these projects, emphasizing the significance of these efforts in achieving transformative development outcomes for the Maldives.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to enhance cooperation further, strengthening the bond between the Maldives and the Saudi Fund for Development as they pursue shared economic and developmental goals.
