In a spirited address at the Republic Day celebrations, Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim stated that the long-held Maldivian dream of a true republic is coming to fruition. He highlighted that this vision, cherished by Maldivians in the 20th century, is now becoming a reality as citizens actively engage in shaping the nation’s future.
Minister Adam Naseer praised President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s transparent leadership and dedication to an inclusive government that aligns with the will of the people. "This realization of the republic is not merely a title," he noted, “but a commitment seen in the actions of our leaders today.” The minister emphasized that President Muizzu has pledged to keep governance in step with the aspirations of the Maldivian people and is committed to fulfilling promises made to them.
One of the critical initiatives highlighted was the upcoming 20-year national development plan, for which the President has invited input from across the country to ensure it reflects a collective vision. In addition, the President’s administration has announced plans for ten national ceremonies throughout the year, each themed around sovereignty, security, and cultural heritage—pillars that underscore the country’s commitment to a strong, unified identity.
Minister Adam Naseer expressed confidence that, with this approach, Maldivians will see the full realization of a republic that champions the values and voices of its people.
