President's Response: I Am a Person Who Will Fight for the Rights of the People

There is no truth in the allegations made by the opposition against him, he is a person who will fight for the rights of the people, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said.
The President said this while speaking at a rally for the government-backed candidates in the Galolhu North constituency yesterday.
Referring to the corruption allegations against him, the President stated that he would not involve himself in nefarious activities in terms of gaining money or property.
The President assured that he would not steal the money of the people, and that it was more important for him to get Allah's forgiveness and approval.
“I am a person who will fight for the people. I am not a person who will touch the people's property. I am not someone who seeks the people’s money. It is more important for me to receive forgiveness and approval from Allah,” he said.
In addition, the President said that the opposition will not be able to show any proof of anything against him. He added that he wants them to talk about it loudly. The more they talk about it, the more the opposition will be exposed, he said.
"I want you to speak loudly. The more you speak, the more you will be exposed. These tactics will not work now," he said.
The President also asked the people to elect candidates supported by the government to implement his manifesto at a fast pace by the end of the five-year period, as well as codify a long term development plan into law through parliament to secure the long term development of the nation.
