Ministers Ameen and Faisal accompany the Chinese Ambassador to welcome the tourists from Xiamen.
230 Chinese passengers arrived in Maldives on the first flight of Xiamen Air from Xiamen City in Fujian Province to Velana International Airport yesterday.
Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen, Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal and Chinese Ambassador Wang Lixin, along with MMPRC and MACL officials, attended the event.
With the launch of flights between Male and Xiamen today, the number of airlines flying to Maldives from China has now reached five.
In addition to Xiamen Air, Hong Kong Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Sichuan Airlines have already started flights to Maldives.
