The UN has appointed Mohamed Janah Ali, a prominent Maldivian businessman, as the Special Advisor on Tourism.
Janah Mohamed Ali is a businessman who works extensively in the construction and tourism industries of Maldives. He is also the President of the Association of Construction Businesses in Maldives.
Janah, who has been appointed as Principal Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment, was appointed as Special Advisor on tourism of the UN at a ceremony yesterday, attended by tourism ministers from 150 countries.
He was appointed advisor by UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili. Janah thanked the UNWTO Secretary-General and the organization for trusting him and appointing him to the post.
Janah said he would do his best for the UNWTO and its important work internationally. He said he would continue to do whatever he could to serve Maldives, as well.
