Foreign Ministry Discusses Further Strengthening Diplomatic Ties with China

Sun Haiyan, Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, and Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer held talks on further strengthening diplomatic relations between Maldives and China.

Sun Haiyan is on an official visit to Maldives at the invitation of Minister Zameer.

In a post on X, Minister Zameer said the meeting discussed ways to further strengthen diplomatic relations between China and Maldives and how the two countries can make progress together.

Sun Haiyan, who belongs to China's ruling party, arrived in Maldives on Tuesday at the invitation of Minister Zameer. During her visit, she also met the President, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

The meeting with the President also discussed the strengthening of relations between Maldives and China. They also discussed accelerating the implementation of the agreements reached during President Dr. Muizzu's visit to China.
