Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party Meets the President

Sun Haiyan, Deputy Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China met with President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu this morning.

Sun, during her courtesy call on President Dr. Muizzu, held discussions to strengthen relations between Maldives and China. They discussed accelerating the implementation of the agreements reached during President Muizzu and his government officials' first visit to China.

In addition, the Chinese authorities and President Xi Jinping assured the readiness of the Chinese authorities to cooperate with the agreements signed with Maldives.

Similarly, Sun expressed interest in further strengthening strategic bilateral relations and conducting training in various fields for the people of Maldives.

In addition, the meeting noted the success of the direct flights between China and Maldives, with Hong Kong Airlines resuming their service in the last week, and Xiamen Airlines beginning service next month. They also discussed further strengthening of the "city-to-city" relationship between Sri Lanka and China.
