The objectives of establishing mandatory medical provision facilities at national and international sporting event venues include ensuring that a player, official or spectator is equipped to assist in the event of a situation requiring medical first aid.
In addition, if such a situation occurs, providing immediate treatment and ensuring that safe transportation to a hospital or emergency treatment facility is arranged as soon as possible.
The government's 14 Week Plan includes developing health services standards for national and international sporting events.
