The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure has announced that the work of the drainage system on Ameenee Magu will start soon.
Minister Dr Abdul Muhthalib wrote in a post on X that he has worked with RDC to complete the last two segments of Ameenee Magu within a month.
The hope is that the pumps will be brought as soon as possible and the drainage system will be completed, he said.
The work on Ameenee Magu, which was started during the last MDP government, has been completed at the site of the Housing Ministry building. The last two segments will be the construction of Ameenee Magu from that point to Boduthakurufaanu Magu.
The construction of Ameenee Magu was awarded to RDC in July. The project will be completed within 210 days at a cost of 84.4 million MVR.
The project began operations on August 30, The work was agreed to be completed within seven months, but the planning ministry extended the deadline.
