Resort Workers Maldives, an organization working for resort employees, has revealed that Vela Private Island Resort paid the highest service charge to employees in December last year.
According to the information posted on the Facebook page of Resort Workers Maldives, Vela Resort paid $1,645.23 per employee as service charge for December.
The page published information on the service charge of 21 resorts, while seven resorts paid more than $1,000 in service charges to employees.
The resorts that have paid the highest service charge to employees are:

Vela Resort is known for paying huge service charges to its employees.
Since December is the high tourism season in the country, employees usually get a good amount of service charge between December and March. However, there are more than 100 tourist resorts operating in the Maldives, and few resorts pay service charges to employees.
