The successful resort chain, Crown and Champa Resorts, has appointed the tourism veteran and connoisseur, Mohamed Solah, as its new Chief Operating Officer (CEO).
Solah is one of the few Maldivian who have had the experience of serving as a General Manager of Hospitality outside of the Maldives. Prior to his appointment as GM of Champa Resorts, he was employed at Zaya Hospitality Group Cluster as their GM.
Solah had briefly served as the GM of Champa-owned resort, Komandoo Island Resort and was nominated as the youngest General Managers of the Maldives.
Solah joined the field of Tourism and Hospitality in the year 2002 as a resort receptionist/telephone operator at Meeru Island Resort. However, he had followed that with several managerial roles and posts during the 2000s.
Solah received an opportunity that led him to finish his Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality while employed at Meeru Island Resort and during his education, he was able to gain much on hand experience in hospitality while working in Malaysia and Seychelles. Furthermore, upon completing his education, he rejoined Meeru Island Resort as its Front Office Manager and also briefly served as their Guest Services Manager.
