Two people who were arrested for disrupting the Yoga Day event.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested two more individuals in connection to the disruption of the Yoga Day activity held last week.
MPS confirmed the arrest, adding that the two were arrested for disrupting the event, causing harm and endangering the lives of the diplomats, ambassadors, participants of the event, and for damaging property.
Aboobakur Faariu (25) and Shabim Adam (31) were arrested on 25th June. Fariu has been detained for 60 days, while Adam is detained for a 10-day period.
So far, 21 individuals have been arrested. The case, MPS added, is being investigated as a serious case by the MPS’ Serious and Organized Crime Department.
