Riyaz and President Solih
State Minister at Ministry of Education Ahmed Riyaz has been suspended over sexual harassment allegations.
President’s Office Spokesperson Mabrook Azeez in a message to media, confirmed the suspension. He said that Education Ministry has been instructed to suspend State Minister Riyaz and that an investigation was underway.
No other details were released.
Sources have reported that State Minister Riyaz was suspended after four female employees of the Ministry came forth with the allegations.
Sources also report that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had ordered the suspension via a message.
State Minister Riyaz is a member of Maldives National Party and a family member of MNP's deputy leader Abdullah Riyaz.
