An uber driver in Assam, India has beaten up a Muslim passenger with a rod.
He was beaten up by a rod because he had the payment option connected with his bank. The driver wanted the payment immediately and used a rod to beat up the passenger after demanding to pay in cash.
The driver has now been arrested after an Indian journalist tweeted about the matter.
The official Twitter handle of Uber India tweeted stating that their safety team is reviewing the matter.
Hate crimes against Muslims are on the rise in India. Often perpetrators of such crimes get away while victims are further victimized by the authorities.
