No Plans To Lock Down Malé City Yet: Dr Afzal

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) have announced that they did not see the need to lock down Male City given the current circumstances.
Responding to a reporter's question during a news conference tonight, Dr Ibrahim Afzal, HPA's epidemiologist, said that while it could not be said that certain measures would not be taken in the future; given the circumstances, they did not see the need to lock down Male City.
He said that there was a chance that Male City would be locked down, however based on the current circumstances, the HPA has not yet decided to enforce such measures in Male City.
Dr Afzal said that discussions regarding Covid-19 were continuously underway at HEOC, and that whatever measures required given the circumstances at the time would be taken. Dr Afzal said that international recommendations were also considered prior to taking measures.
