Large Quantities Of Drugs Seized From Maafushi, Dhiffushi, And Vilimale

A large quantity of drugs and alcohol have been seized from Maafushi (Kaafu Atoll), Dhiffushi (Kaafu Atoll), and the Vilimale ward of Male City in a police operation.

The Maldives Police Service had stated that they had arrested a 33-year-old local man for the posesssion of a cellophane packet containing what had been suspected to be drugs. The man had however been let free by the court.

The Police had also stated a 38-year-old local man had been arrested following an operation in Dhiffushi. They stated that 21 sheets of blotter paper stained with drugs, a rubber packet had been found on the person of the man after he had been arrested and searched during an operation on 30 December. The search of his residence on 31 December yielded 50 sheets of paper stained with drugs.

The Police had also stated that they had seized two cases of beer in Maafushi on 31 December; no arrests had been made so far.
