The opposition Coalition has called for heightened security measures to be placed for the protection of Supreme Court Chief Justice Ahmed Mutasim Adnan and his family after the security cameras of his private residence had been destroyed in a burglary attempt.
On September 30, the Maldives Police Service had received a complaint that an unknown perpetrator had tampered with the security cameras installed in Chief Justice Mutasim's residence before an attempt had been made to break in.
In a press release made last night, the opposition Coalition condemned in "the harshest terms" the attempts to break into Chief Justice Mutasim's residence. The Coalition went onto say that this was a matter of deep concern, and that such incidents occurred primarily due to government negligience.
The Coalition called on the government to vigilantly protect Chief Justice Mutasim and his family.
