Iberia, the national airline of Spain has announced direct flights to the Maldives, which will begin in the summer.
Iberia plans to begin direct flights to the Maldives beginning from July up until August of this year. They further stated that flights will be scheduled to fly two days a week.
The Executive Chairman for Iberian airline, Javier Sanchez Paritho stated that flights are scheduled to start during the summer, and that it would open the Spanish market, thereby increasing Spanish tourists.
Currently, 29 airlines have flights flying in and out of the Maldives. The information available from the Ministry of Tourism show that many major airlines do operate in Maldives.
After the borders opened last year in July, Spanish tourists made up a large percentage of the tourists that graced our shores.
