Anas Murder

Evidence Collection for Anas Murder Case Almost Complete: President Solih

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has claimed that the investigation into the killing of Mohamed Anas (Fenfiyaazuge, R. Meedhoo) is almost coming to a close. Anas had been violently killed four years ago.
President Solih mentioned this during a live-broadcasted webconference with the MDP Local Council candidates for R. atoll. The President had said that the only step remaining in the investigation into Anas' killing was to send off one item of evidence for forensic analysis. The item was a mobile phone, he said.
He said that the phone would be sent to Singapore for forensic analysis and to collect as much data as can be retrieved. He said that once this was done, the Presidential Commission on Deaths and Disappearances would publish a report on Anas' murder.
Anas was murdered on 31 July 2017. He had been stabbed with a sharp weapon 37 times. 7 adults and 1 minor have been implicated in the murder.
