The hearing on how Ismail Rasheed has not been receiving adequate medical care has been cancelled due to Internet connectivity issues.
Ismail is accused of having participated in the slaying of blogger Yameen Rasheed.
Yameen Rasheed had been murdered on 23 April 2017, after midnight. The State had pursued five with homicide charges. The accused include Ismail Haisham Rasheed, Ahmed Zihan Ismail, Mohamed Dhifran, Hassan Shifaz, Ismail Rasheed.
Ismail had previously complained that he was not receiving adequate medical care as per the recommendation of his physician. The lawyer for the Maldives Correctional Service had thus been summoned to the Criminal Court.
The hearing had been interrupted by Internet connectivity issues and had to be cancelled. Judge Adam Mohamed ruled that the hearing would be postponed to a time when all parties were able to be physically present in a court-room.
