This year’s statistics from the Ministry of Tourism show that the most tourist arrivals in the Maldives flew in on Emirates.
As of January 18 of this year, Emirates has carried 11,504 passengers to the Maldives, this amounts to 134 movements.
The second-most popular airline used by inbound tourists had been Qatar Airways (6,951 passengers) and third-most popular had been Aeroflot (6,362 passengers).
844 flight movements to the Maldives have been recorded so far this year.
The Maldives’ borders were closed to control the spread of COVID-19, and they were re-opened on July 15 of that same year. Since then, 27 airlines have resumed their routes to the Maldives.
So far, 60, 581 tourists have arrived in the Maldives this year; and the most tourists had come from Russia (13,880 tourists).
