Aishath Zahira has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA).
CMDA announced that this appointment had been made as per the Maldivian laws and regulation on national financial security.
Zahira has many years of experience in the world of finance, having served 31 years at the Maldives Monetary Authority; the Maldivian Central Bank. The last position at the Central Bank she held was Deputy Governor.
A CEO for the CMDA has not yet been appointed; the position having stayed vacated since Nadiya Hassan resigned in 2019.
