Indian Govt.-Backed Projects Aimed At Making Life Easier: High Commission

The main objective of the Indian-funded projects underway in the Maldives is making the daily lives of Maldivians easier, the Indian High Commission in the Maldives has said.
The High Commission tweeted this sentiment with an announcement regarding the nearing of completion of upgrading the athletic track at the Male Sports Complex to “modern standards”.
The project to upgrade the running track is one of the projects initiated by the Indian government in the previous year, and has been delayed beyond the November 11 completion date that had been announced by the Maldivian Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment.
The sub-base for the athletic track had been laid by a local company, RKL Pvt Ltd, on a CSR basis, and the remaining work of building a synthetic track had been carried out by the Police Welfare Corporation (POLWEC).
The Indian High Commission mentioned in their tweet that upgrading the running track from a sandy path to a synthetic track had given them “joy”.
