Dr. Shaheem expresses concern over delayed opening of Islamic Centers

Former Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has expressed concerns over the delayed opening of Islamic Centers built-in local islands during President Yameen’s tenure.
Dr. Shaheem has also tweeted that Islamic Centers built during President Yameen’s tenure should be handed over to the Maldives Islamic University to conduct their programs. Dr. Shaheem was the former Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of Maldives Islamic University.
He also stated that President Yameen has handed over the Islamic center developed in GDh. Thinadhoo during his tenure at the University. He also noted that President Yameen has provided official documents to the university regarding the handover.
Dr. Shaheem stated that Ungoofaaru Islamic Center should also be handed over to Maldives Islamic University.
While the Islamic Centers developed by President Yameen’s administration have not been opened by the current administration, the opening of the Salman Mosque built in Malé through a Saudi grant has also been delayed.
