Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has stated that former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom deserves credit for the swimming pool developed in Hulhumale’ during his administration.
In a tweet referring to the pool being opened for public, member of parliament for Naifaru Constituency and Vice President of opposition PPM Ahmed Shiyam enquired whether Mahloof would give the credit of developing the pool to President Solih.
Shiyam also noted that these developments can be identified as President Yameen’s service to the nation especially its youth and that the public cannot be dissuaded to believe otherwise.
In a tweet responding to Shiyam’s tweet, Mahloof stated that the pool was a project of President Yameen’s administration and that all credits goes to President Yameen. He also stated that President Solih has not claimed credit for the project and is instead attempting to build an Olympic standard swimming pool. Mahloof noted that the swimming track’s development was also concluding.
Although President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration has completed two years in office, the administration has been inaugurating projects started during President Yameen’s tenure. President Solih’s administration has been able to start only a few projects.
