Government adamant to fund the state via traffic violation fines: MP Hussein

Member of Parliament for Faresmaathodaa Constituency Hussain Mohamed Latheef has criticized the government for taking exorbitant amounts via parking violation stickers and towing vehicles.
He also tweeted that while the tourism industry is rejuvenating the government is still adamantly trying to fund the state via fines collected from issuing parking violation stickers to the youth and by towing their vehicles.
While a large number of people are fined daily for traffic violations, the government has decided to tow the vehicles of individuals operating the vehicles without a license for 15 days. These vehicles will be released once a fine is paid.
Furthermore, vehicles parked outside paring zones are also being towed. However, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih vowed not to fine people without providing more parking spaces during the 2018 presidential campagin.
