Maldives Airports Company (MACL) which is one of the most profitable companies operated in the Maldives has appointed Maju Cherian, an Indian citizen as the company’s Director of Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT).
A statement by MACL stated that Maju Cherian will join the company starting from 14th December 2020. MACL also stated that he has over 22 years of experience in the management of airports in India and Bahrain.
According to MACL prior to joining the company Maju Cherian was the ORAT director of Bahrein Airports Company. MACL also stated that the company will greatly benefit from his education and experience.
Appointing Indians to various state-owned enterprises has increased since President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih assumed office. In contrast, Indian citizens were not granted work visas during the final year of Former President Yameen’s administration.
