Fisheries Minister Shiyam meets with fishermen.
The government has paid a total of 561 million MVR to fishermen since President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu assumed office on the 17th of November last year.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources said in a post to X this morning that a total of 561 million MVR has been distributed from the debt owed to the fishermen.
According to the ministry, MIFCO has distributed 35 million MVR to the fishermen today. Therefore, a total of 105 million MVR has been issued in the past six days.

In a post to X yesterday, the CEO and management of MIFCO thanked the fishermen for their cooperation and patience while they work to issue the money that is owed to them.
