President Allows All Nominees to Contest Parliamentary Primary

The President has decided to give the opportunity to all nominees to contest the parliamentary primary.
The ruling party coalition, PPM/PNC, has decided to contest all seats for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The primary for the PPM/PNC ticket in the March parliamentary elections will be held on Saturday.
Many candidates have submitted forms to contest the primary, while some candidates have been deemed ineligible.
The reason for not giving some candidates the opportunity to contest the primary was that they had not done enough service to the party. It was also decided not to give tickets to some candidates for creating divisions among the party's ordinary members.
PNC Chairman Abdul Raheem Abdullah (Adhurey) recently posted on X that the PNC President, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has decided to give the opportunity to all those who have submitted their names to contest the primary.
Abdul Raheem Abdullah (Adhurey) announces the President’s decision to allow all candidates to contest the primary.
“The PPM/PNC has decided to hold the primary for all the candidates who have nominated themselves to contest the primary,” Adhurey said.

The Election Commission has decided to hold the parliamentary elections on March 17th, where the ruling party looks to put a candidate up for contest in every constituency in Maldives.
